Radisson Hotels & Resorts® Latin American Development Strategy to Elevate Brand to one of the Most Recognized in the Region

Santiago, Chile and Sao Paulo, Brazil | October 20, 2006

Radisson Hotels & Resorts® today announced that together with its South American strategic partners Radisson Hotels & Resorts Latin America and Atlantica Hotels International of Brazil it will expand to become one of the most prominent international hotel brands in Central and South America by 2011.

During a visit this week to the region, Yvonne La Penotiere, president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide-the Americas (parent company of the Radisson brand), stated that there are currently 18 Radisson hotels and resorts operating in Latin America, six new properties under development, and numerous projects planned in select business and leisure travel destinations throughout the region.

"Over the past five years the brand has grown significantly in Latin America, as we pursue strategic global expansion of Radisson Hotels & Resorts along with the other brands of Carlson Hotels Worldwide," said La Penotiere. Carlson Hotels Worldwide includes five hotel brands operating in 930 locations in 73 countries. The brands include Regent Hotels & Resorts; Radisson Hotels & Resorts; Country Inns & Suites By Carlson; Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Park Inn.Accompanying La Penotiere on visits to Santiago and Sao Paulo this week was Nancy Johnson, executive vice president of Full Service Brands for Carlson Hotels Worldwide. Johnson's responsibilities include leadership of the Radisson brand.

"Our interest in South America is strong based on the continuing economic development and vibrancy of the region," Johnson said. "The addition of new properties here also offers our customers new destinations for their global travel.

Johnson noted the special significance for Radisson to have a strong presence in gateway cities such as Sao Paulo, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Lima, as these locations serve as key arrival markets for both North American and European travelers.

Strong Economy and Large Population Make Brazil Prime for Hotel Growth
Under the leadership of Atlantica Hotels, which has licensing rights to the Radisson and Park brands in Brazil, two Radisson hotels are currently operating in Brazil. These include the 205-room Radisson São Paulo in the heart of the downtown business and entertainment districts, and the 195-room Radisson Hotel in the southern state of Paraná's capital city of Curitiba. Atlantica also operates the 215-room Park Plaza Suites International Trade Center in São Paulo, part of the Park brand within the Carlson Hotels Worldwide.

By the first half of 2007, Atlantica expects to open two new Radisson hotels in Brazil. The first is a 180-room hotel in Londrina, in southern Brazil; the second is a 220-room resort property in the southeast region. Additionally, contracts have been signed for three new-build projects in Brazil. These include a 140-room marina location in Florianopolis in the southern state of Santa Catarina (scheduled to open in 2008), a 200-room hotel in Campinas (about 60 miles northwest of Sao Paulo) that will feature an extensive sports facility and convention center. This property is slated to open in 2009. The third Radisson opening in 2009 will be the 140 room Radisson Resort in Natal with a private unspoiled beach famous throughout Brazil. All five of these new properties will be luxury-class hotels for their respective cities and are considered the best hotel in the regions.

"Brazil is the fifth largest economy in the world and considered the gateway country to South America," said Paul J. Sistare, president and CEO of Atlantica Hotels. "There are more cities in Brazil have populations in excess of 500,000 than the United States, making them prime locations for luxury class hotels with international standards. I have no doubt that in the next two years, Radisson will enjoy the status of being the largest and most recognized, luxury brand in Brazil."

Sistare added that Atlantica plans to develop the Radisson brand quickly over the next five years in Brazil, as the company has already identified 20 capital, primary and secondary cities in which his team is seeking new management and construction contracts. "Investors are eager for the brand and its ability to deliver results" declares Sistare.

Chilean Market is Key to Regional Development Strategy Chile, another cornerstone in Radisson's Latin American development strategy, is home to four Radisson hotels. These include the 140-room Radisson Hotel Antofagasta situated between a scenic mountain range to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west; the Radisson Hotel Iquique featuring 78-rooms in the northern Tarapaca Region; the 125-room Radisson Ciudad Empresarial Hotel Santiago located in the Santiago Metropolitan Region; and the Radisson Plaza Santiago Hotel offering 159 upscale guestrooms in Chile's sophisticated capital city.

Denise Estefan, president of Radisson Hotels & Resorts Latin America, accompanied La Penotiere and Johnson on their visit to Santiago. "We've incorporated the global expertise of Carlson Hotels Worldwide with our knowledge of the Chilean market to create a powerful brand that understands the needs of our clients, investors and employees," said Estefan. "We're intent on remaining the largest, full-service brand operating in Chile."

Radisson Hotels & Resorts Latin America is in the process of adding a new Radisson resort in Con Con, a city on Chile's Pacific coast north of Viña del Mar. The property will be an exclusive 50-room boutique hotel and spa; it is scheduled to open in December 2006.

As for future Radisson development in Chile, Colin Turner, vice president of Development-South America for Radisson Hotels & Resorts Latin America, says his team is working on three additional projects in the southern region of the country.

Other Latin American Countries Round Out Radisson Growth PlansRadisson's development push in Brazil and Chile is supported by a solid base of properties already located in key business and leisure travel destinations throughout Central and South America.

In Central America, Radisson currently has five properties and 760 guestrooms located in Panama City, Panama; San José, Costa Rica; San Salvador, El Salvador; Guatemala City,Guatemala; and Belize City, Belize. Carlson also franchises three Country Inn & Suites By Carlson hotels in Panama City (2) and Cariari, Costa Rica.

Besides the six Radisson hotels located in Brazil and Chile, there are seven otherproperties located throughout South America, most within or adjacent to World Trade Center business complexes. These hotels are in Montevideo, Uruguay; Colonia, Uruguay; La Paz, Bolivia; Quito, Ecuador; Caracas, Venezuela; Bogota, Colombia; and Cali, Colombia.

"These include hotel projects in Buenos Aires and the city of Bariloche, and a resort in Iguazu, a city that boasts some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world.
