T.G.I. Friday's Restaurants Named Chicago Tribune's 'Super Bowl of Appetizers' Champion

In a recent competition organized by the Chicago Tribune and with help from the crew of Chicago Fire Department's Engine 42, Truck 3, T.G.I. Friday's restaurants was crowned At Play's 2007 Super Bowl of Appetizers Champion.

Organizers ordered one menu item from four casual dining restaurant chains in each of four categories: wings, south of the border, fried vegetables and international. Judges tasted all four items within each category and ranked items from favorite to least favorite. After rankings were tabulated and averaged, the restaurant with the top score received a touchdown (six points), second place received a field goal (three points), third place received a safety (two points) and fourth place received a point after touchdown (one point).

In addition to winning the overall championship, Friday's Wicked Wings were named best wings and Friday's Crispy Green Bean Fries were selected as best fried vegetables. Friday's defeated the next closest competitor by four points. For full details and quarter by quarter results, visit:
