Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Team Members Recognized for Outstanding Achievement
Carrollton, TX | March 15, 2007
Two team members and one team from Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc., parent company of T.G.I. Friday's® and Pick Up Stix® restaurants, were recognized at an awards gala recently for their outstanding achievements with a prestigious award from Carlson, parent of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide.
The Carlson Fellows award and the Order of the Golden Rose award are given annually to team members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and performance with Carlson, a world leader in the hospitality, travel and marketing industries.
"The award recipients and nominees embody the spirit, drive and determination that makes Carlson Restaurants Worldwide one of the most successful restaurant companies in the world," said Richard Snead, president and chief executive officer of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. "These team members represent the 'best of the best' at Carlson Restaurants Worldwide."
The Carlson Fellows award celebrates outstanding career achievement and commitment, and is the highest honor bestowed on Carlson colleagues. Winners are awarded a 19-inch bronze replica of a statue of Carlson Companies founder Curt Carlson that stands in the lobby of Carlson's World Headquarters building in Minneapolis, Minn.
George Barton, Vice President Operations - Southeast Division and a 25-year veteran of T.G.I. Friday's, was honored with the Carlson Fellow for Special Achievement.
The Order of the Golden Rose honors Carlson colleagues who, by translating the Carlson strategy into meaningful and measurable actions, contributed in extraordinary ways to the company's success in the previous year. Inductees receive a porcelain rose created by the Boehm studios.
This year's Order of the Golden Rose award recipients from Carlson Restaurants Worldwide are Kay Anderson, Director of Global Loss Prevention, and the Carlson Restaurants Worldwide International Development Team.
In addition, the following team members were chosen as The Carlson Restaurants Worldwide winners and Carlson nominees for a Carlson Fellow award: Customer Service - Michael Olk, International Director of Operations; Creativity & Innovation - Betsy Murphy, Vice President, Learning & Development; Leadership Achievement - John Andrews, Process Improvement Director; Employee Achievement - Elisha Gitata, Server, T.G.I. Friday's, Hilliard, Ohio; Sales Achievement - Michael Jordan, General Manager, T.G.I. Friday's, Gainesville, Fla.; and Stewardship - Mike Archer, President and COO, T.G.I. Friday's USA.
The following team members were chosen as Carlson Restaurants Worldwide winners and Carlson nominees for The Order of the Golden Rose: Sales Achievement - Jim Donneruno, General Manager, T.G.I. Friday's, Orlando, Fla.; Delighting the Customer - Jim Fay, VP, Architecture & Design; Build the Team - Sharon McPherson, Manager, New Store Openings; Employee Achievement - April Young, Government Affairs Manager. In addition, the following teams were Carlson Restaurants Worldwide winners and Carlson nominees for The Order of the Golden Rose Team Nominations: Sales Achievement - Pick Up Stix Catering Team; Working Smarter Not Harder - Approved Product List Project Team; and Building the Team - CRW Human Resources Team.
In addition to being honored at last week's gala, recipients of these awards and all of the Carlson Restaurants Worldwide will also be recognized at a special reception at the Carlson Restaurants Worldwide headquarters.
