T.G.I. Friday's restaurants was recently named a Special Achievement Category Winner for "Most News Coverage," an award given to one company across all categories of competition in the 2007 Magellan Awards sponsored by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) for its "Right Portion, Right Price" publicity campaign, implemented by T.G.I. Friday's and its public relations agency of record DFPR.

The T.G.I. Friday's Right Portion, Right Price publicity campaign, also recognized with a "Platinum Award," was named one of the "Top 50 Publicity Campaigns of 2007," finishing 6th overall out of 456 entries.

"We are honored to receive this recognition for one of the most successful public relations campaigns in our 42-year history," said Amy Freshwater, vice president of communication and public relations for Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. "Offering a variety of smaller portion entrées at lower prices all day, every day was an unprecedented move in the casual dining industry and, as a result, generated a significant amount of media coverage."

"This year's entry, 'Right Portion, Right Price', proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition," said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director. "Overall, we find this work to be superb. We congratulate the entire team involved in this year's work. We classify this entry as being among the top 6 of all communications materials judged by LACP this year."

The League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP) was established in 2001 in order to create a forum within the public relations industry that facilitates discussion of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities. The Magellan Awards Communications Campaign Competition annually recognizes the best publicity campaigns from some of the most recognized organizations throughout the world.
