Regent Hotels & Resorts Global Expansion Continues
Minneapolis, MN | February 25, 2008
With four new properties opening in 2008 and five additional worldwide developments scheduled through 2010, Regent Hotels & Resorts will double its portfolio in the coming years. The development surge invigorates the iconic luxury hotel brand, legendary for its unparalleled service and strong Asian heritage Bjorn Gullaksen, President of the Regent Luxury Group, commented, "We look forward to bringing the distinctive Regent Experience to new customers in key destinations around the world."
The new properties' unique features range from in-room sommelier service, private plunge pools and Penthouse Butlers to Michelin-starred dining, luxury spas and balconies for all guest rooms.
The First Regent in France, The Regent Bordeaux, Opens in French Wine Capital
Located in an historic palais, The Regent Bordeaux is opposite the Opéra National de Bordeaux in the Golden Triangle, the city's premier shopping district. The hotel's 150 guest rooms feature views of Place de la Comédie and have been designed by Jacques Garcia, the world-renowned interior designer whose recent work includes New York's Spice Market and the Ladurée tearoom in Paris.
The hotel's five Prestige Suites offer private wine bars customized by guest preferences, complete with in-room sommelier service and instruction. The hotel's "Cave à Vins" is both the wine cellar for fine dining restaurant L'Océan as well as a luxury wine shop where guests can purchase bottles featured on the restaurant's wine list. L'Océan is an 80-seat haute seafood venue whose executive chef, Pascal Nibaudeau, comes to The Regent Bordeaux from a two-star Michelin restaurant in Brussels, The Sea Grill.
A luxury landmark, The Regent Bordeaux is the first hotel in Bordeaux to offer a luxury spa. Featuring treatments and products from Les Bains de Léa, the 3,280 square-foot spa offers 12 treatment rooms and a rooftop indoor swimming pool. In addition, the hotel offers the largest number of meeting rooms in the city and its own Fashion Avenue, featuring luxury boutiques from Roberto Cavalli, Yves Saint Laurent and Van Cleef & Arpels.

The Regent Bal Harbour Brings Refined Luxury to South Florida in March 2008
The first hotel to open in Florida's exclusive Bal Harbour Village in over 50 years, The Regent Bal Harbour will debut March 2008. Surrounded by white sand beaches and turquoise waters, the 124-suite hotel offers views from all angles: the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Haulover Inlet to the north, Intracoastal Waterway to the west and the Miami skyline to the south.
Ground-breaking accommodations at The Regent Bal Harbour include private elevators and in-suite bathtubs with a view: free-standing tubs set before 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel will also offer a signature restaurant in partnership with legendary French culinary academy Le Cordon Bleu® and a 10,000-square-foot spa operated by Paris' renowned L'Institut de Guerlain.
The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf Debuts June 2008 in Boston's Historic North End
The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf, opening June 2008, marks the first Regent property in the Northeast. The 150-room hotel will offer an 18,000-square-foot Guerlain Spa, a lounge with spectacular views of Bunker Hill and Charlestown, a waterfront café on the promenade and 6,200 square feet of meeting space. Sensing, the hotel's destination restaurant from three-star Michelin chef Guy Martin, will offer waterfront dining.
Located in a historic residential neighborhood near Boston Harbor, The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf is within walking distance of Boston's central business district, government center, and historic landmarks including the Freedom Trail, Old North Church and Faneuil Hall. The spectacular waterfront site also offers 300 linear feet of dockage and a water taxi service to Logan Airport, Charlestown and the Seaport District.
The Regent Maldives to Offer Private Island Paradise in October 2008
A 50-villa luxury resort opening October 2008, The Regent Maldives will occupy the entire Maalefushi Island, an unspoiled 860,000-square-foot island paradise in the Indian Ocean. The Regent Maldives will offer 23 beach villas and 27 over-water villasincluding two Presidential villaswhich allow guests to observe marine life directly beneath their rooms. All villas will feature private plunge pools and expansive timber decks, offering breathtaking views across the turquoise lagoon. The bathroom of each villa will open to either a lush private garden or an ocean vista, and will feature indoor and outdoor showers. The two exclusive Presidential villas will be set over the coral lagoon and include a luxurious dining pavilion with a viewing and relaxation platform, spacious bedroom suites with walk-in wardrobe and private sun decks.

Regent to Open Luxury Hotel Overlooking the Adriatic Sea in Dubrovnik, Croatia
The 120-room The Regent Dubrovnik, opening 2009, will offer spectacular views of Croatia's Adriatic Sea, widely considered one of the world's top diving destinations. The hotel will be located in the eastern part of the Sungarden Resort, and will feature an elite spa and wellness facility. The Regent Dubrovnik will also offer several specialty restaurants, offering a blend of Mediterranean and South American cuisine, as well as a poolside bar and casual restaurant, a cocktail lounge complete with cigar bar, and expansive meeting facilities. The hotel will be the second Regent hotel in Croatia; the first, The Regent Esplanade Zagreb, is located in Croatia's capital.
The Regent Bangkok Hotel & Residences to Offer Prime Location in Downtown Bangkok
Opening 2009, The Regent Bangkok Hotel & Residences will be a state-of-the-art development comprised of two separate high rise towers. The 327-room Regent Bangkok will be positioned in front of the 346-residence condominium tower.
The Regent Bangkok will offer five levels of public space featuring an expansive retail village, premier restaurants and bars, a 7,000-square-foot ballroom, a 200-car parking area and a rooftop health club with swimming pool and spa.
Situated on Sukhumvit Road next to Soi 13, one of Bangkok's prime business and entertainment districts, The Regent Bangkok Hotel & Residences will offer easy access to luxury shops, commercial offices, embassies and nearby Nana Skytrain and Sukhumvit subway stations.
The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa to Offer Private Ocean-View Balconies in all Accommodations
Another future development in Asia is the March 2009 opening of The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa. Located on the south-eastern tip of Phuket Island on a pristine beach near the Andaman Sea, The Regent Phuket will be a 106-room resort overlooking Cape Panwa's picturesque secluded bay. The 49 terrace rooms, 22 deluxe villas, 35 pool villas and one presidential villa at The Regent Phuket will all feature private ocean-view balconies. Resort amenities will include a 180-foot swimming pool, tennis court, a fully-equipped fitness center and a spa with 10 treatment rooms. The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa will also feature two 195-square-foot function rooms for meetings, parties and events.
Regent to Bring Five-Star Luxury to the Philippines with The Regent Manila Bay
In Fall 2009, a ground-breaking mixed-use development featuring The Regent Manila Bay will herald the entrance of Regent to the Philippines. The Regent Manila Bay will be part of a unique hotel-within-a-hotel development, offering five-star luxury accommodations within the Radisson Hotel Manila Bay. The hotels will share a common structure but will have separate driveways, entrances, lobbies, guest facilities and staff. Both hotels will be located in the Mall of Asia Complex, a 148-acre commercial and business complex that includes a convention center, business district, waterfront esplanade and the 4,155,000-square-foot Mall of Asia.
The 80-suite Regent Manila Bay will be an all-suite boutique property offering 10 suites, 69 executive suites and one 1,310-square-foot presidential suite. The Regent Manila Bay will feature a signature restaurant in addition to a lobby lounge, fully-equipped fitness center and swimming pool for exclusive use by Regent guests. The hotel will overlook scenic Manila Bay and will offer easy access to nightlife and entertainment in the nearby Makati, Ermita and Malate Districts.
The First Regent in the Middle East, The Regent Emirates Pearl, opening 2010 in Abu Dhabi
The first Regent in the Middle East, The Regent Emirates Pearl will open in the capital of the United Arab Emirates in 2010. The hotel will offer 365 rooms and 70 furnished apartments housed in a 47-story silhouette of twisting glass designed by award-winning Austrian architect Dennis Lems. A dramatic, 65-foot high atrium will form the center of the lobby area, and the hotel's interiors will combine international modernity with décor inspired by the rich heritage of Abu Dhabi. Guests will be able to choose from six restaurants, including one on a separate island connected to the hotel, two lounges, four bars and a rooftop deck for dining and cocktails. With its striking contemporary design, The Regent Emirates Pearl will be a landmark on the UAE coastline.
