Carlson Hotels Worldwide Adds 16 New Properties to its Global Portfolio During the First Quarter of 2007

Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced that during the first quarter of 2007, the company added 16 new locations to its portfolio of brands.
The new hotels include three Radisson SAS properties in Kazakhstan, Norway and France; three Radisson Hotels & Resorts® hotels, in California and Arizona, and one managed hotel in Arizona; a new spa hotel in Chile developed by Radisson Hotels of Latin America; four Park Inn® hotels in Michigan, Russia, Belgium and France; two Park Plazasm Hotels & Resorts properties in India and China; and three Country Inns & Suites By Carlsonsm hotels in Maryland, Indiana and Illinois. Carlson's worldwide counts now total 948 hotels with 146,448 rooms in 71 countries. Carlson hotel brands also include Regent Hotels & Resorts.
Jay Witzel, President and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide and CEO of Carlson Cruises Worldwide, addressed the company's growth during Carlson's Global Business Conference held here May 7-10.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts
The three new hotels to join the Radisson SAS brand at the beginning of 2007 include the 175-room Radisson SAS Hotel Astana in Kazakhstan, the 172-room Radisson SAS Hotel, Fredrikstad in Norway, and the 189-room Radisson SAS Hotel, Marseille in France.
The newly constructed hotel in Kazakhstan is part of a large, mixed-use complex that includes a department store and restaurants, an office tower and residential apartments, as well as art galleries and a world-class wellness and spa center.
Both of the new hotels in Fredrikstad and Marseille are part of the "new breed" generation of Radisson SAS, which are described as contemporary hotels with modern design and unique service concepts.
The guestrooms at the Fredrikstad hotel feature Ocean and Urban themes, black granite floors and fiber optic lighting, and Norway's longest open fireplace measuring nearly 14 feet in length.
The Marseille property, which is located in the city center between the Fort Saint-Nicolas and the Théâtre de la Criée, is divided into two buildings: one facing the Vieux Port containing the lobby, two restaurants, meetings facilities and some guestroom; and the other overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with the remaining guestrooms, heated outdoor swimming pool, solarium and the fitness center.
Radisson Hotels & Resorts
The new Radisson Hotel Phoenix-Chandler in Arizona is managed by Carlson and is owned by Hospitality Property Trust. Within minutes of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and area attractions like Firebird International Raceway and Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium, guests of the 159-room hotel can enjoy the charm of the Old West, outdoor sports and world-class golf.
Located at the base of California's San Gabriel Mountains between Orange and Los Angeles counties is the Radisson Suites Hotel Covina. The hotel is beautifully landscaped with 259 spacious one-bedroom suites in a tropical setting. Local attractions include tennis and golf courses, Raging Waters, SpeedZone, Fairplex and Irwindale Speedway. This hotel is owned by Adrian Valencia.
Also, the Radisson Hotel Phoenix City Center in Arizona is located within minutes of downtown Phoenix, Sky Harbor Airport and provides easy all major interstate highways. The property features beautifully landscaped gardens with cascading rock waterfalls, two ground-level swimming pools, a rooftop pool, an on-site restaurant and meeting rooms accommodating up to 250 people. It is owned by Sunshine Midtown, LLC.
Radisson Hotels of Latin America
Located in the Chilean city of Con Con on the Pacific coast north of Viña del Mar, the new Radisson AcQua Hotel & Spa is an exclusive 50-room boutique hotel offering panoramic ocean views from every guestroom and Thalassotherapy spa services. In addition to these relaxing services, which include traditional seaweed baths, seaweed body wraps, hydrotherapy, massage, and marine-based facials, the hotel also features two on-site restaurants, a lounge area and 24-hour room service. The hotel's staff is multilingual, and foreign guests are tax exempt. To date, Radisson's global portfolio includes 400 hotels with 89,568 guestrooms.
Country Inns & Suites By Carlson
With the addition of three new Country Inns & Suites By Carlson hotels during Q1 2007, the brand currently consists of 411 hotels and 32,784 guestrooms.
All of the new properties are located in the U.S., and include the 95-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Camp Springs, Md.; the 82-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Meridian, Ind.; and the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Tinley Park, Ill., with 99 guestrooms. All of these hotels feature traditional brand design elements, including hard wood floors and fire place in the grand lobby.
In January, the Park Inn brand opened its second location in St. Petersburg, Russia -the Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya, and its newest U.S. hotel - the Park Inn Sault Sainte Marie in Michigan.
The Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya is in a prime location and has 1,200 guestrooms and the Waterville Aqua Park featuring several pools, aqua-tube slides, a lazy river and Jacuzzis. In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the new 59-room Park Inn Sault Sainte Marie is within close proximity to the area's many seasonal attractions.
In March, the Rezidor Hotel Group opened two new Park Inn locations: one in Belgium - the Park Inn, Liège Airport, and the Park Inn Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in France.
The Belgium hotel is located in the newly constructed passenger terminal of the airport, and is close to several key business centers, including Liège Logistics, Grâce-Hollogne, Les Hauts Sarts and Liège Science Park. At the new Paris property, located just 15 miles from downtown Paris, all guestrooms are designed in the brand's vibrant, signature color palette of red, gold, green and blue. The addition of these four properties increases the Park Inn portfolio to 85 hotels and 13,679 guestrooms worldwide.
Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts
The new 45-room Park Plaza Jodhpur in India and the 394-room Park Plaza Beijing Science Park in China are the latest addition to the global Park Plaza portfolio.
The hotel in Jodhpur is a state-of-the-art business hotel located in the heart of the city and within five minutes of the airport and local markets. The re-branded hotel in China is owned by a Beijing-based company and is located near world-famous sites such as The Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace. These additions bring the brand's global property count to 44 with 7,477 guestrooms.
