PSV Eindhoven's Heurelho Gomes Joins Guests at the City's Park Plaza Hotel to Celebrate its Re-launch

Minneapolis, MN | May 01, 2008

The 4-star Park Plaza Mandarin Eindhoven hotel has been given a complete new look following an extensive renovation commissioned by architects and designers Abrahams & Crielaers. The hotel, situated in a prime location in the centre of Eindhoven and only 15 minutes from the airport, was officially re-opened by Heurelho Gomez, goal keeper for the city's team - and one of Holland's most reputed - PSV.

Eindhoven, famous for its DAF-truck and home to countless Philips offices, is fast becoming one of Europe's leading cities for sport, technology, design, art and culture, attracting an influx of business professionals, design-savvy students and tourists. Park Plaza Mandarin's renovated guest rooms, lobby, reception, fitness centre, bar and brand new E!lite lounge, verifies its status as the design hotel of choice within the city.

The renovated guest rooms now feature dark wood furnishings, plasma screens with interactive TV system and Wi-Fi and selected rooms boast contemporary wooden flooring. Light zones vary on the ground floor to accommodate business meetings as well as private dining in the contemporary new E!lite lounge. The hotel's entrance, reception, bar and breakfast room have also been completely re-designed and modernised to offer greater services, facilities and ultimately more comfort for guests. A brand new gym has been added to the hotel's fitness area which boasts two saunas and a swimming pool overlooked by an impressive panoramic image of the official Olympic pool in Beijing.

Though the bespoke designs of Abrahams & Crielaers's were unique to the hotel, certain aspects were influenced by one of Park Plaza Hotels' landmark London properties - Park Plaza Riverbank, where sleek furnishings, clean lines and high-impact artwork are the foundation of the design concept. Park Plaza Mandarin Eindhoven now boasts a fabric of natural stone with accents of white, beige, black and red and artwork inspired from Asia.

Hotel Manager Nieske van Klinken-Riezebos, comments: "I am thrilled with the result of the refurbishment. The renovations have dramatically improved the landscape of the hotel and provide greater comfort, convenience and facilities to our guests. The design is fresh, modern and contemporary and a great reflection of the Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand."
