Carlson Hotels Worldwide Announces Executive Leadership Appointments and Structural Changes to Support New Three-Year Strategic Plan

Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced several executive appointments and structural changes in its senior leadership team.
Fredrik Korallus, formerly executive vice president of revenue generation, has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of a new organizational entity: Radisson Hotels & Resorts Operating Company
Wendy Nelson, executive vice president of Carlson Hotels Real Estate Company, has been named to a new position of executive vice president of brand strategy for Radisson Hotels & Resorts
Steve Mogck, executive vice president of franchise operations for select service hotels, was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of another new organizational entity: Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Operating Company
Nancy Johnson, formerly executive vice president of franchise operations for full service hotels and franchise development, was named chief development officer for all Carlson Hotel brands in the Americas
Bob Kleinschmidt, chief financial officer, has taken on additional responsibilities as chief administrative officer, responsible for the areas of finance, legal, operational support services, technical services and procurement
Paula Winkler, chief information officer, has taken on additional responsibilities for operational support services including the areas of information technology, distribution, revenue optimization, loyalty programs, training, education and development plus property support services
"We are pleased to announce these key executive appointments and structural changes that position Carlson Hotels Worldwide to implement a new three-year strategic plan," said Jay Witzel, president and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide. "In the Americas, an important focus of the plan is on our two largest brands, Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson and this new structure is designed to provide organizational alignment that supports them," Witzel added.
The Radisson and Country Inn operating companies will each include their own teams for the functions of marketing, sales, hotel management, franchise field support, brand standards, guest satisfaction plus product and service quality. Carlson's Park Inn brand will be supported through the Country Inn Operating Company. Carlson's Regent Luxury Group is not affected by these changes.
About Fredrik Korallus
Before this appointment, Korallus was the executive vice president of revenue generation for Carlson Hotels Worldwide and was responsible for sales, marketing, distribution and revenue optimization. Korallus also brings to his new position broad global experience in the hotel industry, having served in leadership positions in Carlson brands in Asia, Europe and the United States. He also served as senior vice president for future openings and franchise operations at The Rezidor Hotel Group, Carlson's major partner in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to that, Korallus served as senior vice president and COO of Park Inn at Rezidor, leading a period of aggressive expansion of this brand in the EMEA region.
About Wendy Nelson
Prior to her new position, Nelson served as executive vice president and managing director of Carlson Hotels Real Estate Company (CHREC), responsible for directing finance and capital needed to spur Carlson Hotels Worldwide's growth of its managed portfolio. In other experience at Carlson, Nelson served as vice president of real estate for Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, where she directed the company's U.S. real estate procurement and investment program for the flagship T.G.I. Friday's brand. From there, Nelson moved to Carlson's hotel division as regional vice president, select service operations.
About Steve Mogck
As executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Country Inns & Suites Operating Company, Mogck will continue to lead the company's select service brands, including Country Inns & Suites By Carlson and Park Inn. Prior to leading franchise operations for select service hotels he served as senior vice president of legal for Carlson Hotels Worldwide. In other experience he was associate general counsel for Carlson and director of contract administration for Carlson Hotels.
About Nancy Johnson
As executive vice president of managed and franchise development, Johnson will lead business development efforts for all of Carlson Hotels' brands in the Americas including Regent, Radisson, Country Inns & Suites and Park Inn. Prior to leading franchise operations for full-service hotels and franchise development for Carlson Hotels, Johnson served as executive vice president and brand leader for the company's select service brands. Before that, she served as senior vice president of development, vice president of development and senior director of franchise development for Country Inns & Suites.
About Bob Kleinschmidt
As chief financial officer for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Kleinschmidt is responsible for overseeing financial strategy, reporting and accounting functions for Carlson Hotels Worldwide and its brands. Kleinschmidt joined Carlson in 1991, and has held numerous positions in the Finance function, including that of chief financial officer for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, from 2000 to 2003, where he oversaw financial strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and reporting and accounting functions for the business unit. Prior to his current position, Kleinschmidt served as vice president and chief accounting officer for Carlson.
About Paula Winkler
In addition to her new responsibilities, Winkler serves as chief information officer for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, responsible for directing the IT strategy for Carlson hotel brands in the Americas and leading the development efforts for creating future technology capabilities. Prior to that, Winkler was with Carlson Hotels' parent company, Carlson, where she was vice president of technology and program executive for Carlson Global Solutions. Winkler also led the Carlson Shared Services Technology organization which includes enterprise applications, hosting, telephony, workplace, network connectivity and collaborative services.
