Carrollton, TX and Charlotte, NC | January 06, 2009
T.G.I. Friday's USA (www.fridays.com) and its public relations agency of record DFPR (www.dfpr.com) were recently named the Special Achievement Category Winner for the Most Engaging Communications Campaign of 2008, a national award for special achievement given to one campaign across all categories of competition in the 2008 Magellan Awards sponsored by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) for its "Give Me More Stripes" publicity campaign.
The publicity campaign was also named one of the Top 50 Publicity Campaigns of 2008, finishing 18th overall out of 457 entries. The company and agency's 2007 Communications Campaign for T.G.I. Friday's "Right Portion, Right Price" was the overall winner for Most News Coverage, another special achievement category.
"We are honored by the recognition and even more thrilled for T.G.I. Friday's. It's really their award," said DFPR agency president Derek Farley. "Friday's 'Give Me More Stripes' guest recognition is so incredibly innovative and differentiates them so much in a competitive space that it is both gratifying and motivating to be involved in this ongoing initiative every day."
"This year's entry, 'Give Me More Stripes', proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition," said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director. "Overall, we find this work to be superb. The first impression presented by this project is outstanding while the message clarity and audience focus are excellent, respectively. We congratulate the entire team involved in this year's work. We classify this entry as being the most engaging of all communications materials judged by LACP this year."
The League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP) was established in 2001 in order to create a forum within the public relations industry that facilitates discussion of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities. The Magellan Awards Communications Campaign Competition annually recognizes the best publicity campaigns from some of the most recognized organizations throughout the world.
