T.G.I. Friday's® USA Appoints Publicis New York as Agency of Record
Carrollton, TX | May 13, 2009
T.G.I. Friday's USA and Publicis New York today jointly announced that Publicis New York, a Publicis Groupe-owned agency, has been named T.G.I. Friday's USA's creative and media buying agency of record, following an agency review.
"We are really looking forward to this new partnership," said Nick Shepherd, president and CEO of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, parent of T.G.I. Friday's. "Publicis brings a new perspective on the consumer's evolving media habits which will allow Friday's to deliver relevant and nimble messages in new ways." Andrew Jordan, senior vice president of marketing for T.G.I. Friday's, added, "Their strategic thinking and creativity will inspire innovative marketing to fuel new growth for the brand, and their passion and energy clearly support that special 'Thank God It's Friday's' attitude."
Publicis, in addition to siblings Digitas New York and Spark Communications, will be responsible for advertising, digital, relationship marketing and media planning and buying. T.G.I. Friday's joins Publicis' impressive client list, which includes Procter & Gamble, Citi, Nestle and L'Oreal.
"This is an exciting win for the new Publicis. Our job is about igniting all dimensions of the T.G.I. Friday's brand for the long-term," said Joe McCarthy, chief executive officer of Publicis New York. "The time and environment are right to change the current conversation about Friday's."
As a privately held company, T.G.I. Friday's does not disclose the estimated value of the account.
