Carlson Marketing UK Appoints Former VCCP Partner Steve O'Connor as Business Director

Loyalty and Relationship marketing specialists, Carlson Marketing, has appointed Steve O'Connor as business director in the UK. Steve, who joins the agency from creative hotshop VCCP, has over 20 years' experience in the industry.
In his new role, Steve will head up client services for the London office on a day-to-day basis. He will work across the business on the range of clients that include Coca-Cola, Müller and Nestlé. Steve will also be involved in growing current, as well as new, business projects.
Spanning more than two decades, Steve's career has included work across a wide range of disciplines and sectors. As a partner at VCCP, he led the IPA award-winning £20m ING Direct account, which involved overseeing all TV, press, outdoor, sponsorship and digital marketing. He also worked on Diet Coke and Wedgwood during his time at the agency. Steve joined VCCP from within The Chime Group in 2002, where he previously held the role of client services director (CSD).
Prior roles have included CSD at Bell Pottinger, where he headed up the Friends Provident account and Citigate Albert Frank/Dewe Rogerson (now The Gate Worldwide), where he led Scottish Widows, Prudential and Visa EU. During his working life, key clients have included Coca-Cola, L'Oreal, Vauxhall and Sainsbury's. His career began at McCann Erickson.
