Upgrade for Rezidor project in Stockholm: Waterfront Hotel rebranded as a Radisson Blu
Brussels, Belgium | February 04, 2010
The Rezidor Hotel Group has rebranded their youngest property in Sweden's capital city: The Park Inn Stockholm Waterfront Hotel has been upgraded to a Radisson Blu and will operate under the name Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm. The opening of the complex which is already under development and will feature 418 rooms as well as state-of-the-art meeting facilities for up to 3,000 delegates is scheduled for early 2011. Located in the heart of Stockholm between World Trade Center and City Hall and next to the Central Station, the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel will be one of Scandinavia's leading conference venues.
"The prime location and the high quality standards of the hotel which became more and more obvious during the building process were the crucial factors for the rebranding", comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. "As a Radisson Blu hotel the property will also further strengthen the brand awareness and recognition of our core brand in our Swedish home market", continues Ritter. Rezidor is managing five more Radisson Blu hotels in and around Stockholm - the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, the Radisson Blu Strand Hotel, the Radisson Blu Royal Park Hotel (Solna), the Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel and the Radisson Blu Skycity Hotels (both at Arlanda Airport). Adding the Waterfront project, the group controls almost 1,800 Radisson rooms in the area.
Facilities of the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel with its spectacular design and shimmering roof top will remain the same after the rebranding, but will see advanced levels of services and standards. Besides 418 rooms with view over Stockholm (among them 4 suites) the property will offer an all day dining restaurant, a bar, and a fitness centre. Meeting facilities will include a flexible auditorium for up to 3,000 persons - the adjacent banqueting area can host up to 2,000 guests.
