Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has been recognized in two separate travel industry award ceremonies as the leading travel management company in the United Kingdom as well as Ireland. Last week CWT accepted “Best Travel Management Company” honors at the Business Travel Awards in London, and “The Best Corporate Travel Agency” at the Irish Travel Industry Awards in Dublin.

Best Travel Management Company – United Kingdom

CWT UK was named “Best Travel Management Company (more than 250,000 UK transactions annually)” for the second consecutive year at the 2011 Business Travel Awards in London on January 24.

The Business Travel Awards, the “Oscars” of the UK corporate travel sector, were judged by an industry panel of corporate travel buyers and business travel journalists. The panel noted CWT’s high client retention, exceptional response to the ash cloud and other operational challenges of 2010, and focus on the future.

“Winning ‘Best TMC’ for the past three out of four years reflects the dedication of every person within CWT UK to provide the best service for our clients,” said Andrew Waller, executive vice president, CWT UK & Ireland.  

CWT UK was also highly commended for “Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program” and shortlisted with government client the Home Office for “Travel Team of the Year.”

Best Corporate Travel Agency - Ireland

Just a few days later, CWT Ireland was named “The Best Corporate Travel Agency” for the first time at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2011, the premier awards for suppliers and distributors in the travel industry in Ireland, in Dublin on January 27.

The award’s independent industry panel cited CWT’s client retention of 97%, exceptional sales, and a new leadership team that delivered a great result while balancing a significant amount of change in 2010.
