Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announces plans to open a new-build, flagship hotel in Mannheim, Germany
Brussels/Mannheim | July 22, 2013
Carlson Rezidor, one of the ten largest hotel groups worldwide, announces the Radisson Blu Hotel Mannheim in Germany. The new built property featuring 225 keys is scheduled to open in 2016. Radisson Blu is Europe’s largest upper upscale brand and offers first class, full service hotels with contemporary architecture and design, innovative concepts, and signature services such as free high speed internet access.

Neumann, president and chief operating officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “Due to its excellent location, style and services, the Radisson Blu Hotel Mannheim will be a new flagship for our core brand.”

The Radisson Blu Hotel Mannheim is part of the urban redevelopment of Mannheim’s Q6/Q7 quarter that also includes a shopping center, offices, food & beverage outlets and apartments. The hotel entrance will be located directly in the pedestrian zone of Mannheim and offer easy access to the city center and nearby attractions.
The hotel’s 225 rooms will include 18 long-stay apartments with kitchenette. The Radisson Blu Hotel Mannheim will offer an all-day-dining restaurant with a large roof terrace, a wellness area with a gym and sauna, and parking facilities. There will be 1,968 square feet of meeting space, including a pre-function area, a 721-square-foot state-of-the-art conference room that can be divided into three function rooms; and three meeting rooms;
Mannheim is the second largest city of the German state Baden-Württemberg, and the geographical, economical and cultural hub of the European metropolitan region “Rhein-Neckar.” The area and the city host headquarters of international companies such as SAP, BASF, John Deere and ABB. Home to a respected university, the city also is an established location of international congresses and conferences. Mannheim can easily be accessed via the high- speed train ICE (Central Station is just 2,624 feet away from the new Radisson Blu Hotel), and is only a 40-minute train ride away from Frankfurt, Germany’s largest airport. Tourists can enjoy nearby attractions, including the castle of Heidelberg Castle and the garden of the Castle Schwetzingen, which are just 15 minutes away.
