PPHE Hotel Group announces Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin, Croatia
London | November 27, 2013
PPHE Hotel Group, owner and operator of primarily full service upscale and lifestyle hotels including Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts in Europe has announced a new Park Plaza hotel in Croatia. Following a 17 million euro renovation, the existing Hotel Belvedere Medulin will be rebranded to Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin. This extensive renovation and rebranding project is in collaboration with part-owned and operated hospitality company, Arenaturist and the hotel is expected to open in June 2014.
This new project will be the fourth contemporary Park Plaza hotel to open in Croatia, increasing the Park Plaza brand’s number of rooms in this leisure hotspot to nearly 1,400.
The four-star Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin will house approximately 428 rooms. It will also feature a spa, with both an indoor and outdoor pool. Rooms currently boasting balconies will increase in size with new exterior balconies being added and an extension of the hotel lobby to overlook the landscaped garden area. The hotel will be a key attraction and destination for sports fans with the creation of football fields for year-round sports use.
Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin will showcase innovative restaurant and bar concepts with the creation of a lobby bar, a revamp of Lungomare Beach restaurant to give a beach club feel and a new restaurant which will open featuring a show-cooking concept on-site. The hotel, restaurant and bars will be designed by Studio 92 designers, who also worked on the Park Plaza Punta Verudela apartments in Pula in 2012.
Reli Slonim, PPHE Hotel Group’s Vice President Croatia and Executive Director of Arenaturist commented: “Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin is yet another milestone for the development in the region and collaboration between PPHE Hotel Group and Arenaturist. Despite the global financial crisis, we will have significantly upgraded and rebranded nearly half of the Arenaturist portfolio, when we open the doors of Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin in June 2014.”
Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin joins Park Plaza Histria Pula, Park Plaza Verdula Pula and Park Plaza Medulin, which were launched in 2012. Park Plaza Histria Pula offers the ultimate in resort sophistication and relaxation. Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, international restaurant Taverna, a brand new stylish champagne bar offering guided Istrian sparkling wine-tastings, as well as a luxury spa. Park Plaza Verudela Pula provides luxurious self-catering apartments overlooking the sea, with three swimming pools and a wide range of restaurants and other on-site facilities including a dedicated kids zone. Park Plaza Medulin is an all-inclusive, couples-only hotel, targeting those who are seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday in a prime beachside location.
