World Cleanup includes separate one-day cleanup activities country-wide or city-wide in participating countries.
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is the official hospitality partner of a global action called World Cleanup 2012 in which various volunteer groups and organizations are cleaning up illegal garbage in nearly100 countries and raising awareness worldwide. World Cleanup 2012 consists of separate one-day cleanup actions, carried out country-wide or city-wide in participating countries.
In June, twenty-five Carlson Rezidor hotels in the Asia Pacific region joined together to mark their own World Cleanup Day by taking to the streets, parks and respective surrounding hotel environment to collect and recycle trash. Hotels also took the opportunity to create awareness of the cleanup message for employees, guests and the wider community. In total, over 300 bags of waste were collected, half of which were sent for recycling.
Additional hotel cleanup events are scheduled in Europe, Middle East and Africa and the Americas regions in September.
